Quick acrylic experimentation - trying to render form and such without any regard to hue/temperature and to only focus on value.  Kinda worked, but that's what experiments are for.

Another painter study.  Woo!  Not hating it nearly as much as I did yesterday.  Sort of figured out how to do my signature style of background, so I'm pretty pumped about that.

Done in Corel Painter, 30 minute speed paint.  As per Eve's suggestion, I think I'm going to try and work in Painter more. 

In other news, I saw How to Train Your Dragon (we took the trip to Berkeley today) and it was pretty awesome.  I'm bummed it's no longer playing in SF, but if you haven't seen it, and it's still playing where you are, I highly suggest it.  Especially pay attention to the creature design.  I must say, since dragons are so overdone, it's challenging to create a new look, but they did a pretty damn good job of it.

Turquoise ink and Pro-White on watercolor paper.

I brought some supplies with me to my work's break room and stashed them there.  Now I get to paint on my lunch!  Wooo!
